BRANDING
FIRE UP GEN Z

Brief:
Develop a new merchandise identity for Penguin, to appeal to Gen Z readers.

Give examples of at least 3 different merchandise products, and showcase a coherent brand identity that speaks to who Penguin are now and what Gen Z want to see.

No matter what form, it should exist to enhance the reading experience in some way.

UBSC

University of Bristol Snowsports Club (UBSC) is one of the UK's largest snowsports societies, with over 1500 members and 150 active competitors. UBSC runs the largest single University ski trip in the UK, taking 2,000 students to the Alps for a week-long ski trip.

Alongside managing contracts and brand partnerships, I also created content for the Instagram account. The graphics for the account followed two separate identities. One for activities related to club members and the second for the promotion of UBSC FEST. The Instagram account has 4,680 followers and the content engages with an audience of over 10k.

The main focus for UBSC branding was visibility on campus. This was achieved by cohesive committee jackets and t-shirts given out for free at main events such as Opening party (Capacity 3,000 in 2022) and Pre-Trip party.

Merch also included beanies, posters, hoodies, tactical vests, stickers and UBSC custom pint cups.

My main aim for creating merch was ensuring that we used sustainable methods and, where possible, used small companies based in Bristol.
